Kralik Art Nouveau "Blue on Gold"
Art Glass Vase
For consideration is a fine antique Bohemian art glass vase circa 1900 by
The Kralik Glassworks, Wilhelm Kralik Sohne.
The craftsmanship found in this vase is superb, beautiful blue threads were produced with trails of hot glass applied around the iridescent body forming a network then blown into a mold so that the trails were pressed into the gold glass spot surface with a clear ground vessel base.
There is no official name for this décor due to lack of historical information available, however, examples of the décor are well documented
on the kralik-glass.com, bohemianglass.org and loetz.com websites.
This piece is spectacular and unique as I have not found another with splashes of pink glass present throughout.
There is a fantastic texture formed on the body of the vase that combined with the iridescent finish is quite captivating.
Photos do not capture the true beauty and the rainbow of colors that illuminate from this fascinating piece!
The vase is considered to be in excellent condition with no damage noted. As with any hand blown glass, there may be bubbles, sand and ash deposits present, formed during the manufacturing process. The vase measures approximately 8.25" tall.
