Here is a nice piece for your vintage Slingerland Gene Krupa outfit. This rare bass pedal came with an early fifties Slingerland Radio King drum set. The entire set was in immaculate condition and this pedal needed some TLC. It had multiple chips on the Posts and the foot pedal was embodied with heavy dirt and soil. The bottom plate that holds the bass pedal secure to the floor had dirt and surface rust. I couldn't leave it like that. It deserved to be restored. Gene Krupa- The King of Swing! I removed all the flat black paint by hand and carefully repainted all the black parts with industrial Rust-Oleum High Performance flat enamel. It was the closest I could find that matched the original paint. Now it's nice and clean. The foot pedal was only washed in hot water with dawn soap. Thats it! I used a sponge to clean the surface to reveal the original beautiful embossed aluminum metal. I was quite surprised how nice it turned out. With Deep letters that appears minimal use. The only part that doesn't look original might be the spring action. I really don't know. The bolts and nuts look old with a nice finish.Everything fits correctly and has excellent return action. Im quite impressed how nice this pedal works. I greased all the original ball bearings and lightly cleaned the original steel caps. Smooth action. The beater looks original. Everything about this pedal screams Jazz History. I feel it turned out beautiful and will compliment any Slingerland Gene Krupa drum set with pride......Maybe 1 of 1 in this condition. Please note that this pedal is very old and has some imperfections. Any further questions please let me know. Thanks for looking.
